Erick Silva looks to rebound from a closely-contested unanimous decision loss to Jon Fitch at UFC 153 in Brazil. Silva has now gone 2-2 in the UFC, but one of his losses, he was disqualified against Carlo Prater for shots to the back of the head in a fight where he was clearly on the way to a stoppage victory. His last victory was a first round submission win over Charlie Brenneman at UFC on FX 3.
Jay Hieron returned to the UFC in October for the first time after an eight-year absence from the promotion. Unfortunately, he dropped a unanimous decision to Jake Ellenberger at UFC on FX 5. Hieron participated in one of Bellator’s welterweight tournaments, and won a shot at the title, but came up short and lost a unanimous decision to Ben Askren.
