Alexander Shlemenko will finally get his shot at gold after winning Bellator’s season five middleweight tournament in November 2011, with a unanimous decision victory over Vitor Vianna. He’s fought three times outside Bellator since winning the finale, extending his winning streak to nine fights. Most recently, Shlemenko earned a unanimous decision over Anthony Ruiz on a regional MMA card in Russia.

Maiquel Falcao became season five’s middleweight tournament with three straight unanimous decision victories over Norman Paraisy, Vyacheslav Vasilevsky, and Andreas Spang. He’s won 13 of his last 14 fights, including a victory over Gerald Harris at UFC 123, but was later released from the promotion due to a criminal charge against him in his home country of Brazil.
