Alexandre Bezerra enters the Bellator featherweight tournament for the second time, since his semifinal loss to Marlon Sandro in last year’s Summer Series event. The loss to Sandro snapped an eight-fight win streak, which including a tournament bout victory over Kenny Foster at Bellator 60.

Since losing a split decision to Marlon Sandro in Bellator’s season four tournament, Genair da Silva was put together a three-fight win streak. Two of those victories were in Bellator, stoppage victories over Bryan Goldsby and Bobby Reardanz, then he returned to Brazil and defeated Bruno Lobato at a Sparta MMA event in September of last year.

Mike Richman made a semifinals appearance in last year’s featherweight tournament following a 23-second knockout of Jeremy Spoon in the quarterfinal round. His bid for a title shot ended there, suffering a first round TKO loss of his own to Shahbulat Shamhalaev at Bellator 79.

Bellator newcomer, Mitch Jackson earns a spot in this year’s tournament with an impressive career record of 19-2, including a seven-fight win streak. Fourteen of his professional wins have come by way of stoppages (14 subs, 1 TKO).
