Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal advanced to the semifinals in this year’s 205-pound tournament with a first round TKO victory over Przemyslaw Mysiala in his Bellator debut. It was Lawal’s first fight back from a year-long suspension after he tested positive to steroids, following his fight with Lorenz Larkin at Strikeforce: Rockhold vs Jardine.

In the quarterfinals, Emanuel Newton defeated Atanas Djambazov via second round submission. It’s the second time Newton has made the semifinals in a Bellator tournament, also making it this far in last year’s Summer Series, but lost a controversial split decision to Attila Vegh.
