Brett Cooper heads into this year’s middleweight tournament on a hot streak, winning his last four contests inside the cage. He’s won his last three for Bellator, including key wins over Valdir Araujo and Jared Hess.

This will be Norman Paraisy’s third attempt in a Bellator tournament, after being eliminated in the opening round in both season one and season six. In Bellator’s inaugural middleweight tournament, Paraisy was submitted in the third round by former UFC champion, Dave Menne. More recently, Maiquel Falcao ended his shot at a world title with a unanimous decision in the quarterfinals of season six.

Andreas Spang was a season six semifinalist, with an opening round victory over Brian Rogers via second round knockout. Unfortunately, his run ended there, losing by unanimous decision to Maiquel Falcao in the following round.

Doug Marshall earned a spot in this year’s tournament with a 22-second knockout of Kale Hose in his Bellator debut last November. The win was his second in three fights, also including a 21-second knockout of Richard Blake at a Twilight Fight Night in September of 2011.
