Saad Awad made the most out of his big opportunity, filling in for injured Patricky Freire on short notice in this year’s Bellator lightweight tournament. He needed just 31-seconds to knock out Guillaume DeLorenzi in the first round. The win was his fifth in a row, all five coming by way of stoppages.

Will Brooks showed once again why he’s considered one of the top prospects in the lightweight division with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Ricardo Tirloni at Bellator 87. Brooks remains undefeated in his mixed martial arts career, a perfect 9-0, which includes notable wins over Drew Dober and Satoru Kitaoka.

Magomedrasul Khasbulaev added to the Russian fighters success inside the Bellator cage with a second round submission victory over Fabricio Guerreiro in the quarterfinals. He’s now won seven consecutive fights, including a 3-0 record in Bellator.

Marlon Sandro should consider himself lucky to be alive in this tournament, following a controversial majority decision over Akop Stepanyan in the opening round. Nevertheless, he’s now won back-to-back fights, previously submitting UFC veteran, Dustin Neace in the first round at Bellator 81.
