Tim Boetsch had a four-fight win streak come to an end after suffering a third round TKO loss to rising contender, Costas Philippou at UFC 155. He was undefeated as a middleweight, including key victories over Nick Ring, Yushin Okami, and Hector Lombard.

Mark Munoz returns after a year-long layoff since getting knocked out in brutal fashion by Chris Weidman in July of last year. The loss snapped a four-fight win streak that put him in to title contention, including wins over CB Dollaway, Demian Maia, and Chris Leben.

Tim Kennedy bounced back from another unsuccessful attempt at Strikeforce gold with a third round submission victory over Trevor Smith in the company’s swan song event. Wins over Melvin Manhoef and Robbie Lawler earned Kennedy a shot at champion, Luke Rockhold, but lost a unanimous decision.

Roger Gracie’s first attempt in the middleweight division was a successful one, submitting Anthony Smith in the second round with a arm-triangle choke. He went 5-1 as a 205-pounder, only losing to former Strikeforce champion Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal in the first round at Strikeforce: Barnett vs Kharitonov.
