John Lineker earned his second straight victory in the octagon with a second TKO victory over Azamat Gashimov at UFC on FX 8. After getting submitted by Louis Gaudinot in his UFC debut, Lineker bounced back with a unanimous decision win over Yasuhiro Urushitani in his sophomore appearance for the promotion.

UK flyweight, Phil Harris got his first win the UFC at UFC on Fuel TV 7 with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Ulysses Gomez. The win was his sixth in seven fights, with his only loss since November of 2007 being a second round submission defeat to Darren Uyenoyama in his UFC debut.

Ian McCall is still looking for his first UFC victory, but his losses have come against the universal #1 and #2 flyweights in the world, Demetrious Johnson and Joesph Benavidez. It was Ian McCall who was considered the number one flyweight in the world, prior to the UFC adopting the division, due to key victories over Jussier Da Silva, Dustin Ortiz, and Darrell Montague.

Iliarde Santos took a short notice fight against rising contender Iuri Alcantara at UFC on FX 8, but came up short, losing by knockout in the first round. He now drops to his natural weight class, the flyweight division, for his second appearance. Prior to the Alcantara loss, Santos carried a six-fight win streak, dating back to January of last year.
