Dennis Siver suffered his first lost as a a featherweight at UFC 162, getting stopped by TKO in the third round against Cub Swanson. Since returning to the UFC in January of 2009, Siver amassed a 7-2 record as a lightweight before dropping to 145-pounds. There he earned back-to-back unanimous decisions over Diego Nunes and Nam Phan, before the loss to Swanson.

After a year on shelf with injuries, Manny Gamburyan returned to action at UFC Fight Night 26, winning a somewhat controversial decision over Cole Miller. It was his second consecutive win the octagon, also earning a unanimous decision win over Michihiro Omigawa at UFC on FOX 4. Previous to the Omigawa win, Gamburyan had lost three-straight fights, a knockout loss to Jose Aldo and decision losses to Tyson Griffin and Diego Nunes.
