Mark Munoz returned to the octagon with a vengeance after a year-long lay off, dominating Tim Boetsch en route to an easy unanimous decision victory at UFC 162. Munoz previously suffered a stunning second round knockout loss to Chris Weidman, ending a four-fight win streak.

Lyoto Machida drops to the middleweight division for the first time in his UFC career, following a controversial split decision loss to Phil Davis at UFC 163. The loss snapped a two-fight win streak and ended the chance of a rematch with Jon Jones for light heavyweight title. Machida previously had back-to-back victories over Ryan Bader and Dan Henderson, before the loss to Davis.
