Steve Carl claimed the World Series of Fighting welterweight title last October with a fourth round submission win over Josh Burkman. It was his seventh straight career victory, including two other WSOF wins over Tyson Steele and Ramico Blackburn.

Despite submitting highly underrated Mike Pierce in just 31-seconds at UFC Fight Night 29, Rousimar Palhares was released from the promotion after holding onto the heel hook for several seconds after the referee was attempting to pull him off. The win snapped a two-fight losing streak, back-to-back knockout losses to Alan Belcher and Hector Lombard.

Marlon Moraes won his fourth fight with the World Series of Fighting last October, knocking out Carson Beebe in just 32-seconds into the opening round. He’s now won six straight fights, including wins over Miguel Torres, Tyson Nam, and Brandon Hempleman.

Josh Rettinghouse will fight for a world title at the young age of 23, thanks to a unanimous decision win over Alexis Vila in his debut with the World Series of Fighting. He’s won seven of his last eight fights, with five of those wins coming by stoppages (1 KO/TKO, 4 Submission).
