Former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza has won back-to-back contests, since losing his title to Luke Rockhold in September of last year. Souza defeated Bristol Marunde in the third round with a arm-triangle choke, then followed that victory with a 41-second knockout win over Derek Brunson at Strikeforce: Rousey vs Kaufman.

Last time out, Ed Herman lost a unanimous decision to Jake Shields at UFC 150, but the Colorado commission overturned the result after Shields tested positive for a banned substance. So Herman’s three-fight win streak is still intact, which includes stoppage victories over Tim Creduer, Kyle Noke, and Clifford Starks.

Jorge Gurgel returns for the first time in 17-months, since his unanimous decision loss to Joe Duarte at Strikeforce Challengers 18. The loss was his third in his last four fights, also falling short against Billy Evangelista and KJ Noons. His only win since November of 2009 was a first round guillotine choke victory over Billy Vaughn in March of 2011.
