Strikeforce veteran, Herman Terrado carries a current seven-fight win streak with him into his Bellator debut, all seven victories coming by way of stoppages. He went 2-0 in Strikeforce, earning a knockout victory over current Bellator fighter, AJ Matthews and a third round submission win over Chris Brown.

Season six’s tournament winner, Rick Hawn came up short on claiming the Bellator lightweight title in January, suffering a second round submission loss to Michael Chandler at Bellator 85. He later returned to the welterweight division in April and defeated UFC-veteran Karo Parisyan in the second round by knockout.

Luis “Sergio Junior” Melo made his Bellator debut in March, submitting Trey Houston in the third round at Bellator 94. The win extended his current win streak to six, including five stoppage victories (2 TKO/KO, 3 Submission).

Ron Keslar earns a late notice spot in this year’s tournament on the heels of a four-fight win streak. His past two victories in the cage have come against Ultimate Fighter veterans James Chaney and Dom Waters. Keslar fought under the Strikeforce banner three times, going 1-2, with a first round submission victory over Eric Lawson.

Matt Riddle fights outside the UFC for the first time of his career, following his release from promotion, after testing positive for marijuana twice in three fights. He would be on a current four-fight win streak if it wasn’t for his blunders, turning wins over Chris Clements and Che Mills to no contests.

Luis “Sergio Junior” Melo made his Bellator debut in March, submitting Trey Houston in the third round at Bellator 94. The win extended his current win streak to six, including five stoppage victories (2 TKO/KO, 3 Submission).

UK lightweight, Mark Scanlon will move up a weight class for a chance at a world title in Bellator’s season nine tournament. Scanlon made one appearance in the UFC, dropping a unanimous decision to Pascal Krauss in November of 2010. Since his release, he’s gone 2-1, most recently defeating Alex Junius by first round submission at a PEC event in Brazil.

Brent Weedman will compete in his fifth Bellator tournament this season. He advanced the furthest in season six, making the tournament finale as a lightweight, but lost a unanimous decision to Rick Hawn. Earlier this year, Weedman returned to the welterweight division, defeating Mariusz Zaromskis in the opening round, but was forced out of his semifinal match due to an injury.

Last month, Justin Baesman earned a split decision victory over former UFC fighter, Daniel Roberts at Nick Diaz’s War MMA inaugural show. He’s now won four straight fights, but three out of the four have come by split decisions. Other notable career victories for Baesman include decision victories over Jamie Jara and Max Griffin.

War Machine returned to fighting last month after serving a year in prison, defeating Blas Avena via first round TKO at Bellator 96. Previous to the jail time, War Machine earned the biggest win of his career in November of 2011, stopping UFC veteran Roger Huerta in the third round by TKO.

Thirty-five year old Canadian, Vaughn Anderson finally gets a shot in big leagues after spending his nearly ten-year career fighting in all parts of the globe. He’s 16-1-1 for his career, including a current nine-fight win streak dating back to November of 2009. Anderson’s most notable fight was against current top UFC contender, Dong Hyun Kim, fighting to a draw at Art of War 14 in China.

Douglas Lima is one win away from becoming the first two-time tournament champion in Bellator. He won the season five welterweight tournament in 2011, defeating Steve Carl, Chris Lozano, and Ben Saunders to earn a shot at champion Ben Askren, but lost a hard fought decision at Bellator 64. This year, Lima earned victories over Michail Tsarev and Bryan Baker for his place in the finals.

Ben Saunders earned a spot in this year’s welterweight tournament final, by defeating Koffi Adzitso and Raul Amaya in the opening rounds. He’s won three straight fights in Bellator since losing to Bryan Baker in the semifinals of season five’s tournament.
