Injuries have kept the former WEC bantamweight champion, Brian Bowles out of action since November of 2011. He last competed at UFC 139, losing to Urijah Faber by second round submission. The loss to Faber broke a two-fight win streak over Damacio Page and Takeya Mizugaki to begin his UFC career.

George Roop likely saved his spot on the UFC roster with a unanimous decision victory over Reuben Duran at UFC 158. The win snapped a two-fight losing streak, which included at TKO loss to Cub Swanson and controversial split decision loss to Hatsu Hioki.
