Felipe Arantes could never really get the offense going against the lanky featherweight, Edmilson Souza, at UFC Fight Night 28, losing a split decision to his fellow Brazilian. He’s now 2-1-1 in his last four fights, including wins over Antonio Carvalho and Godofredo Castro, and a draw against Milton Vieira.

Maximo Blanco found a way to shoot himself in the foot once again, this time getting disqualified for blatant knees to the head of grounded opponent against Akira Corassani at the Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale. The loss was his third in four fights, also including losses against Pat Healy and Marcus Brimage. Blanco’s only win during his time in the UFC was a unanimous decision win over Sam Sicilia at the Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale.

He’s now won two out of his last three fights, including a decision victory over Antonio Carvalho. In between the wins, Arantes fought to a split draw against Milton Vieira at UFC 147.

Edimilson Souza makes his UFC debut on the heels of a seven fight win streak, dating back to October of 2011. All thirteen of his professional victories have come by way of stoppages (12 KO/TKO, 1 submission). Most recently, Souza stopped Fabiano Nogueira by first round knockout at Jungle Fight 51.

Felipe Arantes has done it all in his first three fights in the UFC. In his debut at UFC 134, Arantes loss a unanimous decision to Iuri Alcantara, but followed that with a decision victory of his own at UFC 142 over Antonio Carvalho. Most recently, Arantas fought to a controversial split draw against Milton Vieira in June of last year.

TUF: Brazil cast member, Godofredo Castro earned his first victory in the UFC with a closely contested split decision victory over Milton Vieira at UFC on FX 7. He made his UFC debut at UFC 147, but lost a unanimous decision to the show’s first winner, Rony Bezerra.
