Machida made the move to the 185-pound division following an 11-4 record as a light heavyweight, including a year as champion.

Former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion, made his UFC debut in April, dominating late replacement Ilir Latifi en route to a unanimous decision victory at UFC on Fuel TV 9. Gegard Mousasi returns from a yearlong lay off, carrying a two-fight win streak with him in his final fight under Strikeforce. Last time out, Mousasi earnead a clear-cut unanimous decision over rising star Ovince St Preux at Strikeforce: Melendez vs Masvidal. The former Strikeforce and DREAM champion had another two-fight win streak snapped in April of last year after a highly controversial majority draw decision against Keith Jardine.

Last time out, Mike Kyle suffered a 33-second knockout loss to Rafael ‘Feijao’ Cavalcante, but the result was later overturned by the California State Athletic Commission after Feijao tested positive for a banned substance. Before that, he defeated highly-touted prospect, Marcos Rogerio de Lima by unanimous decision.
