Josh Barnett’s return to the UFC was a triumphant one at UFC 164, stopping Frank Mir in first round via TKO. Since March of 2008, Barnett has gone 10-1 in his career, with his only defeat coming against Daniel Cormier in the finals of Strikeforce’s Heavyweight Grand Prix.

After surviving an early beatdown, Travis Browne came back to knockout Alistair Overeem in highlight reel fashion in the first round at UFC Fight Night 26. He’s now on a two-fight win streak, previously stopping Gabriel Gonzaga by knockout last April. Browne’s only professional loss came at UFC on FX 5, when a leg injury hobbled him and eventually sucummed to the knockout against Antonio Silva.

Josh Barnett makes his long anticipated return to the UFC, following a eleven-year hiatus from the promotion, despite being considered a top 10 heavyweight since his departure. His last four fights have taken place under the Strikeforce banner, where Barnett amassed a 3-1 record with wins over Brett Rogers, Sergei Kharitonov, and Nandor Guelmino, while losing to Daniel Cormier in the Heavyweight Grand Prix final.

Twelve-year UFC veteran, Frank Mir once again finds himself at a crossroad of his career, losing his last two fights inside the octagon. Mir had a three-fight win streak snapped in May of last year, getting stopped by Junior Dos Santos in the second round at UFC 146. Most recently, he was outclassed by rising superstar Daniel Cormier, losing a unanimous decision at UFC on FOX 7.

To reach the finals, Barnett earned back-to-back submission victories over Brett Rogers and Sergei Kharitonov.

Nandor Guelmino makes his United States debut on the heels of a seven-fight win streak amassed on the European regional MMA circuit. Most recently, Guelmino got his biggest win of his career, earning a unanimous decision over Emil Zahariev at a World Free Fight Challenge event in Slovenia.
