Raphael Assuncao may be a win or two away from a title shot following a razor-thin, somewhat controversial split decision win over TJ Dillashaw at UFC Fight Night 29. He’s now a perfect 5-0 as a bantamweight, including other key wins over Johnny Eduardo and Mike Easton.

Francisco Rivera extended his current win streak to five at UFC Fight Night 31, stopping George Roop in the second round by TKO. He was released from the UFC in June of 2011, following a submission loss to Reuben Duran at the Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale, but was brought back after two wins under the Tachi Palace Fights banner.

The evolution of Stephen Thompson into a complete mixed martial artist, took another big step at UFC 165, showing much-improved wrestling which led to a second round TKO victory over Chris Clements.  That’s now two straight victories in the octagon since his loss to Matt Brown in April of last year, also earning a unanimous decision win over Nah-Shon Burrell at UFC 160.

Ultimate Fighter: Smashes welterweight winner, Robert Whittaker suffered his first loss in the UFC at Fight Night 27, ending up on the losing side of a hard-fought split decision against Court McGee. The loss snapped a two-fight win streak, which included wins over Brad Scott and Colton Smith.

TJ Dillashaw took another step forward towards adding his name among the elite fighters atop the UFC bantamweight division with an impressive first round knockout victory over Hugo Viana at UFC on FOX 7. He’s now won four straight fights since losing to John Dodson in the Ultimate Fighter 14 bantamweight finale.

Raphael Assuncao has quietly won four consecutive fights in the UFC, dating back to August of 2011. After suffering a first round knockout loss to Erik Koch at UFC 128, Assuncao dropped to the 135-pound division where he’s gone 4-0, including wins over Johnny Eduardo, Mike Easton, and Vaughan Lee.

Joey Beltran looks to compete for the first time in 2013, since testing positive for a banned substance after his decision victory over Igor Pokrajac at UFC on FX 6. He was suspended nine months and the result of the fight was overturned to a no contest. So officially, Beltran has lost three out his last four fights, with his only victory since June of 2011, coming outside the UFC, a unanimous decision win over Anton Talamantes at a C3 Fights event.

Brazilian slugger, Fabio Maldonado likely saved himself from the UFC’s chopping block, earning a unanimous decision over Roger Hollett at UFC on FX 8. The win snapped a three-fight losing streak, including decision losses to Kyle Kingsbury and Igor Pokrajac and a TKO loss to Glover Teixeira.

More recently, Wisniewski dropped a split decision to Chris Clements at UFC 145 in his sophomore appearance in the octagon.

Mike Easton currently holds an eight-fight win streak, including three inside the UFC. Easton won his UFC debut via second round TKO over Byron Bloodworth at UFC Live on Versus 6. He followed up that win with a majority decision victory over Jared Papazian. Most recently, Easton earned a one-sided unanimous decision victory over longtime MMA veteran, Ivan Menjivar at UFC 148.

After losing three out of his last four fights in the featherweight division, Raphael Assuncao dropped to 135-pound division where he has won his last two consecutive fights. Assuncao earned a unanimous decision victory over Johnny Eduardo at UFC 134 and followed it up with a second round TKO win over Issei Tamura last July.
