Tyson Griffin was once considered one of the top prospects in the UFC, but a string of losses quieted the high expectations. Griffin ended his UFC run just 1-4 in his last five fights, including losses to Takanori Gomi, Nik Lentz, and Bart Palaszewski. His last win was a majority decision victory against Manny Gamburyan at UFC Live on Versus 4.

Ultimate Fighter season 8 winner, Efrain Escudero was given a second opportunity in the UFC, following a 5-1 run in the regional circuit since being released from the promotion in September of 2010. Unfortunately, Escudero went 0-2 losing unanimous decisions to Jacob Volkmann and Mac Danzig.

Gilbert Yvel was released from the UFC in October of 2011, following a three-fight losing streak in the heavyweight division. He’s since dropped to light heavyweight and has won back-to-back fights. Most recently, Yvel defeated fellow UFC-veteran, Houston Alexander by first round knockout at RFA 2.

Since being released by the UFC in December of 2006, Marcio ‘Pe de Pano’ Cruz  went on a five-fight win streak outside the promotion, including victories over Mu Bae Choi and Dan Christison. Most recently, Cruz was defeated by Glover Teixeira by second round TKO in July of last year.
