For the second time in his UFC career, Joseph Benavidez fell short on his bid to become the flyweight champion, suffering a first round knockout loss to Demetrious Johnson at UFC on FOX 9. The loss to Johnson snapped a three-fight win streak, including knockout wins over Darren Uyenoyama and Jussier da Silva.

Tim Elliott fell to 2-2 in the UFC, after losing a unanimous decision to Ali Bagautinov at UFC 167. He previously earned back-to-back decision wins over Jared Papazian and Louis Gaudinot.

Tim Elliott shined in his third appearance inside the octagon, controlling Louis Gaudinot from start to finish, earning the clear cut unanimous decision. He’s now won two straight fights since dropping his UFC debut to John Dodson, also getting a decision victory against Jared Papazian at the Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale.

Ali Bagautinov made waves in his UFC debut with a crushing third round knockout of Marcos Vinicius at UFC Fight Night 28. The win extended his undefeated streak to nine, with all but two victories coming by way of stoppages (5 KO/TKO, 2 Submission).

Injuries have kept Louis Gaudinot out of action for over a year since earning a unanimous decision victory over John Lineker at UFC on FOX 3, his first for the promotion. He made his UFC debut at the Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale at 135 lbs, and his size differential showed heavily, suffering a third round TKO loss to Johnny Bedford.

Tim Elliott picked up his ninth win in ten fights at the Ultimate Fighter 15 Finale, with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Jared Papazian. Other wins include stoppage victories over Jens Pulver and Josh Rave.  His only defeat since August of 2009, was a decision loss to John Dodson at UFC on FOX 3 in his promotional debut.

Jonathan Brookins has had mix success since joining the UFC, going 1-2 in the octagon since winning the twelfth season of the Ultimate Fighter. Brookins defeated Michael Johnson by unanimous decision in the season’s finale, but then lost his following fight by decision to Erik Koch. Most recently, Brookins was submitted in the second round by guillotine choke to Charles Oliveira at the TUF 15 Finale.

Dustin Poirier had a five-fight win streak snapped by Chan Sung Jung via fourth round brabo choke in a “Fight of the Year” candidate. During his streak, Poirier earned notable wins against Jason Young, Pablo Garza, and Max Holloway.

Tim Elliott fell short in his UFC debut, losing a unanimous decision to John Dodson, but made the fight the fight a lot closer than expected by most. The loss snapped an eight-fight winning streak, which included wins over former UFC lightweight champion, Jens Pulver and Josh Rave.

Jared Papazian drops to the flyweight division after an 0-2 stint as a bantamweight. He lost his UFC debut to Mike Easton by majority decision at UFC on FX 1. Most recently, Papazian was submitted by Dustin Pague in the first round last June.
