Former title contender, Chad Mendes returned to the win column with a 31-second knockout of Cody McKenzie at UFC 148. He suffered his first career loss in his previous bout with Jose Aldo, getting knocked out in the first round last January.

A veteran of mixed martial arts since 2006, Yaotzin Meza gets a shot in the big leagues for the first time in his career. Meza recently had a six-fight win streak snapped by Andres Quintana via first round TKO. During the streak, three victories came by way of stoppages (2 submission, 1 TKO).

Colin Fletcher booked his spot in the finale following back-to-back wins over Ben Wall and Richie Vaculik on this season of the Ultimate Fighter: Smashes. Officially, he’s on a four-fight win streak that dates back to July of last year and includes a unanimous decision victory over Jason Ball at BAMMA 9.

Norman Parke won two consecutive unanimous decision victories over Richie Vaculik and Brendan Loughnane to earn a spot in the finale. Parke enters the UFC on a six-fight win streak, five of those wins have come by way of stoppages (3 submissions, 2 TKOs).

Nick Penner returns for the first time since losing his UFC debut to Anthony Perosh via first round TKO at UFC on FX 2. The loss snapped an eight-fight win streak, most notably a unanimous decision victory over prospect Tim Chemelli in September of last year.

Cody Donovan earned a shot in the big leagues on the heels of a three-fight win streak. He competed for Bellator in March of last year, beating Brian Albin by unanimous decision. Most Recently, Donovan defeated Peter Nolan in the first round with a rear naked choke at a Instinct MMA event.

Robert Whittaker earned a spot in the TUF: Smashes welterweight finale with two consecutive, first round knockout victories over Luke Newman and Xavier Lucas on the show. Before the show, Whittaker had won two out of his last three fights, including a first round TKO victory over fellow Australian prospect, Shaun Spooner.

On the show, Bradley Scott won back-to-back unanimous decisions against Xavier Lucas and Ben Alloway to earn his place in the finale. His official record is 8-1, including a current six-fight win streak in the UK’s regional MMA circuit.
