Former UFC welterweight title contender, Jon Fitch was released from his UFC contract following a 1-2-1 record in the octagon in his last four fights. After a controversial draw against BJ Penn, Fitch was knocked out in 12 seconds by Johnny Hendricks, followed by a “Fight of the Night” decision victory against Erick Silva. Most recently, he lost a unanimous decision to Demian Maia which prompted his release.

The Ultimate Fighter season two alum, Josh Burkman has had a career resurgence since his UFC release back in October of 2008. He’s gone 7-1, including a current four-fight win streak. Notable victories include Bellator-veteran Koffi Adzitso and UFC vets Gerald Harris and Aaron Simpson. Burkman’s only loss since his release was a decision loss to Jordan Mein at a Knockout Entertainment MMA event back in April of 2011.
