Former Bellator bantamweight champion, Zach Makovsky impressed in his UFC debut, dominating from start to finish en route to a unanimous decision victory over Scott Jorgensen at UFC on FOX 9. He’s now won three straight fights since his release from Bellator in December of 2012.

Joshua Sampo extended his win streak to five, following a second round submission win over Ryan Benoit at the Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale. Other notable wins during the streak include a decision over UFC-veteran Antonio Banuelos and a submission victory over Bellator-veteran Alexis Vila.

Erik Koch will move up a weight class after a 2-2 record in the UFC’s featherweight division. He began his UFC tenure with two-straight victories over Rafael Assuncao and Jonathan Brookins, which earned him a title shot against Jose Aldo, but an injury kept him from competing in that scheduled match-up. Since his return, he’s lost back-to-back bouts, most recently a decision loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 164.

Rafaello Oliveira likely needs a win to keep his job with the UFC, following a pedestrian 2-5 record with the promotion. Most recently, at UFC 162, Oliveira was stopped by vicious leg kicks in the second round from Edson Barboza. His last victory came in July of 2012, earning a unanimous decision over Yoislandy Izquerdo.

Following a 3-3 record in the UFC’s bantamweight division, Scott Jorgensen will drop to flyweight for the first time in his career.  After the UFC/WEC merger, Jorgensen started his UFC tenure 2-0, but has struggled since, going just 1-3 in his last four bouts. Most recently, he lost to Urijah Faber by fourth round submission at the Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale.

Former Bellator bantamweight champion and newly crowned RFA flyweight champion, Zach Makovsky fills in on a week’s notice for John Dodson, who was forced to withdrawal because of an injury sustained while training. Makovsky was released from Bellator in December of last year following a two-fight losing streak, but has since dropped to the 125-division and won back-to-back fights, most recently earning a unanimous decision over Matt Manzanares at RFA 11 to win the flyweight title.

Former Bellator bantamweight champion, Zach Makovsky will meet up-and-comer Matt Manzanares for the Resurrection Fighting Alliance flyweight title in the main event at RFA 11.

Zach Makovsky became Bellator’s first ever 135-pound champion, defeating Ed West in the season three finale by unanimous decision. After two non-title fight victories, Makovsky lost his belt to Eduardo Dantas after he was submitted in the second round at Bellator 65. He then was upset by Anthony Leone by split decision and was surprisingly released from the promotion shortly after. Makovsky then dropped to the 125-pound division and earned a unanimous decision over Claudio Ledesma at CFFC 24.

Matt Manzanares showed why he’s considered one of the top flyweight prospects in the United States with a second round submission win over Steve Swanson (UFC’s Cub Swanson’s brother) at RFA 9. It was his second win in a row, since suffering his first career loss to Aaron Ely back in June of last year.
