Carlos Condit ended a two-fight losing skid at UFC Fight Night 27 with a vicious fourth round TKO victory over Martin Kampmann. Previously, Condit had lost back-to-back decisions against UFC welterweight champion Georges St Pierre and current #1 contender, Johny Hendricks. After losing a razor-thin split decision against Kampmann in his debut, Condit rattled off five straight victories to earn a shot at UFC gold in November of last year.

Matt Brown’s unexpected tear through the UFC’s welterweight division continued at UFC Fight Night 26 with a 29-second knockout victory over Mike Pyle. He’s now won six straight fights, including four straight knockout victories over Luis Ramos, Mike Swick, Jordan Mein, and Pyle.

Joe Lauzon is in a must-win situation to stay among the elite in the 155-pound division, following back-to-back decision losses to Jim Miller and Michael Johnson. His last victory came at UFC on FOX 4, submitting Jamie Varner in the third round of a “Fight of the Year” candidate.

Despite going just 3-7 in his last ten fights, Ultimate FIghter season six winner, Mac Danzig will get another opportunity to pick up a win inside the octagon. Most recently, Danzig suffered a brutal second round knockout defeat to Melvin Guillard at UFC on FOX 8. The loss was his second consecutive loss, including a split decision defeat to Takanori Gomi in November of last year.

Season six’s Ultimate Fighter winner, Mac Danzig has traded wins and losses since July of 2009. Most recently, he lost a closely-contested split decision to Takanori Gomi at UFC on Fuel TV 6. Danzig’s last victory came at UFC 145, earning a unanimous decision victory over another TUF winner, Efrain Escudero.

Not long ago, Melvin Guillard’s name was in title consideration, but now after losing four out of his last five fights, he might be fighting to keep his spot on the UFC roster. Last time out, Guillard was dominated by Jamie Varner at UFC 155, but the fight was absurdly called a split decision with the fight still going to Varner.

Thiago Silva returned in April from a year-long suspension, handed out by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for testing positive for a banned substance following his fight with Brandon Vera. The long lay-off proved costly, being completely out-gunned by Alexander Gustafsson at UFC on Fuel TV 2, losing a one-sided unanimous decision.

Stanislav Nedkov remained undefeated in his UFC debut, stopping Luiz Cane by TKO in the first round at UFC 134. The win was his 12th victory in a row, also including wins over Travis Wiuff and Kevin Randleman

Mac Danzig likely saved his job in the UFC, with a unanimous decision over Efrain Escudero at UFC 145. The win was his second out of three fights, also knocking out Joe Stevenson in the first round back in December of last year. In between, Danzig lost a unanimous decision to Matt Wiman at UFC Live on Versus 6.

Takanori Gomi was successful in his return to Japan, defeating Eiji Mitsuoka by second round TKO at UFC 144. The win snapped a two-fight losing streak, suffering back-to-back submission losses to Clay Guida and Nate Diaz.
